	KSAR GHILANE

6 days and 5 nights in the Sahara beginning in Douz and ending in Ksar Ghilane.
(Plus 2 nights hotel accommodation.)

For example: Arrive Friday night and transfer from Djerba airport to a small hotel in Douz.

Saturday morning - time to browse the local market before joining your guide, camels and camel drivers to begin your 65km trek to the small Bedouin village of Ksar Ghilane.


	You will travel through a fast changing landscape of small dunes, high dunes, and even no sand at all when you cross the Chott Regoug, passing temporary rivers and small lakes, dry at certain times of the year.

Arriving at the oasis at Ksar Ghilane, you will see the ruins of the ancient palace from which the village derives it’s name.

Thursday will be the last day in the Sahara and, depending on your flight times, you will have the option of spending your final night at the campsite in Ksar Ghilane or returning to Djerba for an overnight stay in your hotel before transferring to your departure airport on Friday.
